TaxACT Deluxe Online

By Kathy Yakal

2nd Story Software has had the distinction over the last several years of being the only personal income tax-prep provider that offers a free version that is the same as its paid version in terms of actual tax preparation tools. The free version of TaxACT Deluxe Online only lacks some found extras found in the paid version, such as an import tool, donation tracker, and calculators (none of which I even used in my evaluation). But if you don't need to file a state return, you can prepare and print or e-file your IRS 1040 forms and schedules absolutely free.

It's for this reason that I said last year and will say again this year: The TaxACT site should be your first stop when you're getting ready to endure your annual tax ordeal. Jump to the topics that you think are the most complex in your return and see how the site handles them. If the forms you need are supported?TaxACT includes all of the most common and many that are used less frequently?and the depth of guidance is acceptable, you don't have to look any further.

Lest you think this is a gimmick designed to market a lot of other products and services to you, or that TaxACT is a second-rate site published by a fly-by-night company, know that it's neither. TaxACT has been around for as long as its competitors, though in its earlier years it was known as Personal TaxEdge and published by a different company (some of the principals moved forward with the product and kept it going under a new name). There's no catch. TaxACT Deluxe Online is a solid rival for the other sites reviewed here. It just happens to be free.

Almost a Carbon Copy
Like its competitors, TaxACT looks and works much like the 2011 version did, with one big difference: TaxTutor Guidance, which comes from renowned tax resource J.K. Lasser, has been rewritten to be clearer and simpler. This was one of TaxACT's weaknesses, so the change was welcome. Beyond that, the company is now offering an audit insurance plan ? similar to competitors' ? for $39.95. And 2nd Story Software is branching out a bit; it will produce an inexpensive service for creating your own will.

TaxACT Deluxe Online does practically everything TurboTax Deluxe Online?and H&R Block At Home Deluxe Online?do. Besides supporting a comparable number of forms and schedules and incorporating new tax laws since last year, it walks you through an interview-like process ("Q&A") rather than making you enter data on IRS documents. It asks you simple, clear questions about everything that needs to be on those official forms. There are often several questions on each screen, and you simply enter information in fields or select options from lists or check boxes to answer them.

You advance forward and backward by clicking buttons. TaxACT doesn't force you to complete the screens in order like H&R Block At Home Deluxe Online does. And when you come across particularly complex topics, all of these sites offer the option of taking a more directed, simplified route.

In the background, TaxACT transfers those responses to the correct lines on the 1040 and its assorted forms and schedules. When you're done, TaxACT combs through your return and alerts you to anything that's missing or seems incorrect. After you've fixed anything necessary, what comes out when you click "Print" is the actual IRS forms filled out with the information you provided. You can also file your return electronically at no cost.

Scuffles outside PM's office after steel layoffs

(AP) ? Some 250 steel workers from Liege's ArcelorMittal plant have scuffled with police outside the prime minister's office, a day after the leading steel and mining company announced it would close seven facilities in eastern Belgium.

The workers pitched stones at police, who retaliated by using the water cannon in freezing temperatures.

Inside, Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo was assessing if anything could be done to save the 1,300 jobs at stake. ArcelorMittal blamed slumping demand for steel and structural overcapacity in Europe for its decision to close the plants.

The company said it would continue to operate five steel production lines, which employ 800 people.

Panetta: Women are integral to military's success

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, in lifting a ban on women serving in combat, said women have become integral to the military's success and have shown they are willing to fight and die alongside their male counterparts.

"The time has come for our policies to recognize that reality," Panetta said Thursday at a Pentagon news conference with Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Panetta said that not all women will be able to meet the qualifications to be a combat soldier.

"But everyone is entitled to a chance," he said.

He said the qualifications will not be lowered, and with women playing a broader role, the military will be strengthened.

Panetta said that his visits to Afghanistan and Iraq to see U.S. forces in action demonstrated to him that women should have a chance to perform combat duties if they wish, and if they can meet the qualifications.

"Our military is more capable, and our force is more powerful, when we use all of the great diverse strengths of the American people," Panetta said earlier Thursday at a Pentagon ceremony in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.

Panetta is expected to step down as Pentagon chief sometime in February. Republican Former Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska has been nominated as his successor, and his Senate confirmation hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31.

"Every person in today's military has made a solemn commitment to fight, and if necessary to die, for our nation's defense," he said. "We owe it to them to allow them to pursue every avenue of military service for which they are fully prepared and qualified. Their career success and their specific opportunities should be based solely on their ability to successfully carry out an assigned mission. Everyone deserves that chance."

The decision to lift the ban on women serving in combat presents a daunting challenge to top military leaders who now will have to decide which, if any, jobs they believe should be open only to men.

Panetta planned to announce at a Pentagon news conference that more than 230,000 battlefront posts ? many in Army and Marine infantry units and in potentially elite commando jobs ? are now open to women. It will be up to the military service chiefs to recommend and defend whether women should be excluded from any of those more demanding and deadly positions, such as Navy SEALs or the Army's Delta Force.

The historic change, which was recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, overturns a 1994 rule prohibiting women from being assigned to smaller ground combat units.

The change won't take place overnight: Service chiefs will have to develop plans for allowing women to seek the combat positions, a senior military official said. Some jobs may open as soon as this year, while assessments for others, such as special operations forces, may take longer. The services will have until January 2016 to make a case to that some positions should remain closed to women.

Officials briefed The Associated Press on the changes Wednesday on condition of anonymity so they could speak ahead of the official announcement.

There long has been opposition to putting women in combat, based on questions of whether they have the necessary strength and stamina for certain jobs, or whether their presence might hurt unit cohesion.

But as news of Panetta's expected order got out, many members of Congress, including the Senate Armed Services Committee chairman, Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., announced their support.

"It reflects the reality of 21st century military operations," Levin said.

Objections were few. Jerry Boykin, executive vice president of the Family Research Council, called the move "another social experiment" that will place unnecessary burdens on military commanders.

"While their focus must remain on winning the battles and protecting their troops, they will now have the distraction of having to provide some separation of the genders during fast-moving and deadly situations," said Boykin, a retired Army lieutenant general. He noted that small units often are in sustained combat for extended periods of time under primal living conditions with no privacy.

Panetta's move comes in his final weeks as Pentagon chief and just days after President Barack Obama's inaugural speech in which he spoke passionately about equal rights for all. The new order expands the department's action of nearly a year ago to open about 14,500 combat positions to women, nearly all of them in the Army.

In addition to questions of strength and performance, there also have been suggestions that the American public would not tolerate large numbers of women being killed in war.

Under the 1994 Pentagon policy, women were prohibited from being assigned to ground combat units below the brigade level. A brigade is roughly 3,500 troops split into several battalions of about 800 soldiers each. Historically, brigades were based farther from the front lines, and they often included top command and support staff.

The necessities of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, however, propelled women into jobs as medics, military police and intelligence officers that were sometimes attached ? but not formally assigned ? to battalions. So while a woman couldn't be assigned as an infantryman in a battalion going out on patrol, she could fly the helicopter supporting the unit, or move in to provide medical aid if troops were injured.

And these conflicts, where battlefield lines are blurred and insurgents can lurk around every corner, have made it almost impossible to keep women clear of combat.

Still, as recent surveys and experiences have shown, it will not be an easy transition. When the Marine Corps sought women to go through its tough infantry course last year, two volunteered, and both failed to complete the course. And there may not be a wide clamoring from women for the more intense, dangerous and difficult jobs, including some infantry and commando positions.

Two lawsuits were filed last year challenging the Pentagon's ban on women serving in combat, adding pressure on officials to overturn the policy. And the military services have been studying the issue and surveying their forces to determine how it may affect performance and morale.

The Joint Chiefs have been meeting regularly on the matter, and they unanimously agreed to send the recommendation to Panetta earlier this month.

A senior military official familiar with the discussions said the chiefs laid out three main principles to guide them as they move through the process. Those were to maintain America's effective fighting force, preserve military readiness and develop a process that would give all service members the best chance to succeed.

Women comprise about 14 percent of the 1.4 million active military personnel. More than 280,000 women have been sent to Iraq, Afghanistan or to jobs in neighboring nations in support of the wars. Of the more than 6,600 U.S. service members who have been killed, 152 have been women.

The senior military official said the military chiefs must report back to Panetta with their initial implementation plans by May 15.

Love triumphs over hate to make exotic new compound: Compound could be useful in batteries, semiconductors, memory devices

Jan. 24, 2013 ? Northwestern University graduate student Jonathan Barnes had a hunch for creating an exotic new chemical compound, and his idea that the force of love is stronger than hate proved correct. He and his colleagues are the first to permanently interlock two identical tetracationic rings that normally are repelled by each other. Many experts had said it couldn't be done.

On the surface, the rings hate each other because each carries four positive charges (making them tetracationic). But Barnes discovered by introducing radicals (unpaired electrons) onto the scene, the researchers could create a love-hate relationship in which love triumphs.

Unpaired electrons want to pair up and be stable, and it turns out the attraction of one ring's single electrons to the other ring's single electrons is stronger than the repelling forces.

The process links the rings not by a chemical bond but by a mechanical bond, which, once in place, cannot easily be torn asunder.

The study detailing this new class of stable organic radicals will be published Jan. 25 by the journal Science.

"It's not that people have tried and failed to put these two rings together -- they just didn't think it was possible," said Sir Fraser Stoddart, a senior author of the paper. "Now this molecule has been made. I cannot overemphasize Jonathan's achievement -- it is really outside the box. Now we are excited to see where this new chemistry leads us."

Sir Fraser is the Board of Trustees Professor of Chemistry in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern. In the late 1980s, he was one of the early pioneers to introduce an additional type of bond, the mechanical bond, into chemical compounds.

The new Northwestern compound has attractive electronic characteristics and can be made quickly and inexpensively. Down the road, it may be possible to expand this first linked pair into a longer chain-like polymer where this methodology could be useful in new technologies for batteries, semiconductors and electronic memory devices.

Driven by curiosity, Barnes only began to look at the radical chemistry of the ring cyclobis (paraquat-p-phenylene) two years ago, nearly 25 years after the ring was first made.

"I wondered what would happen if we took it all the way to the max," said Barnes, the paper's first author and a member of Stoddart's group. "Can we take two of these rings, each with four positive charges, and make them live together?"

The rings repel each other like the positive poles of two magnets. Barnes saw an opportunity where he thought he could tweak the chemistry by using radicals to overcome the hate between the two rings.

"We made these rings communicate and love each other under certain conditions, and once they were mechanically interlocked, the bond could not be broken," Barnes said.

Barnes' first strategy -- adding electrons to temporarily reduce the charge and bring the two rings together -- worked the first time he tried it. He, Stoddart and their colleagues started with a full ring and a half ring that they then closed up around the first ring (using some simple chemistry), creating the mechanical bond.

When the compound is oxidized and electrons lost, the strong positive forces come roaring back -- "It's hate on all the time," Barnes said -- but then it is too late for the rings to be parted. "That's the beauty of this system," he added.

Most organic radicals possess short lifetimes, but this unusual radical compound is stable in air and water. The compound tucks the electrons away inside the structure so they can't react with anything in the environment. The tight mechanical bond endures despite the unfavorable electrostatic interactions.

The two interlocked rings house an immense amount of charge in a mere cubic nanometer of space. The compound, a homo[2]catenane, can adopt one of six oxidation states and can accept up to eight electrons in total.

"Anything that accepts this many electrons has possibilities for batteries," Barnes said.

"Applications beckon," Stoddart agreed. "Now we need to spend more time with materials scientists and people who make devices to see how this amazing compound can be used."

Dream Gear for the Gadget-Lover's Super Bowl Party

Let's start with the big gun. Yes, Sony's ultra-HD TV costs a fortune. And no, the Super Bowl won't be broadcast in 4K resolution. But hear me out. First, there's nothing like watching the game on an 84-inch screen. Second, if you're going to upgrade to a theater-quality HD television, you might as well be ready for the coming firestorm of 4K content. At a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and 8 million pixels on the screen, 4K movies will look astounding on the Sony.

Saner alternative: Consider Sony's excellent 1080p option, the 54.60-inch LED HX850 Internet TV, which sells for $2599.99.

Tim Cook says Apple still doesn't care if they cannibalize their own products

Shocker: Apple still doesn't care if they cannibalize their own products

In response to a question asked during Apple's Q1 2013 conference call, Tim Cook once again re-iterated Apple's long-held belief that they'd rather cannibalize their own existing product lines with new product lines than risk a competitor eating into their business. The only twist to the repartee this time was the iPad mini, and what if any affect it might have had on full-sized iPad sales.

Apple's CEO, Tim Cook said Apple continues to see cannibalization as a huge opportunity for Apple, and that any company that fears cannibalizing themselves risks someone else doing it for them. Apple knows the iPhone has cannibalized the iPod, and that the iPad has cannibalized the Mac. Whether or not the iPad mini cannibalizes the iPad maxi, due to supply constraints throughout the quarter, it's tough to tell at this point. However, Cook still believes that the tablet market will eclipse the PC market, and that's one of the reasons they see cannibalization as an opportunity.

Another reason is the halo effect. Apple saw with the iPod that, after a customer had a great experience with one product, they may consider buying another. For Apple, if someone buys and iPad mini or iPad first, the same thing could happen. In fact, Apple is confident of it, and already seeing evidence it will happen.

I've said before, Apple is one of the few companies in the tech industry that doesn't confuse it's products for its business. Instead of fearing change and riding its iPod fortunes into the ground, Apple introduced the iPhone, which rose as the iPod sales started to decline. And the iPad, which rose as PC sales started to decline.

They bet big on what's next. Perhaps at some point they'll misplace a bet, but the only way to win the future is to play for the future.

Why Bad Grammar Makes Good Passwords

Lousy grammar and nonsense may help boost password strength, a new research paper argues.

Because the minimum recommended length of passwords has increased over the past few years, it's often suggested that users create passphrases, or groups of words, that can be strung together to form a long password.

For example, "the big boy runs fast" becomes "thebigboyrunsfast." Run through an encryption algorithm, it becomes a long string of random-looking gibberish.

(Because "thebigboyrunsfast" is all lower-case letters, it's still a lousy password; "th3b!6b0YruN5f@5t" would be much better.)

But there's an Achilles' heel in creating phrase-based passwords. It's the fact that most English speakers will craft phrases that make sense.

Ashwini Rao and Gananand Kini at Carnegie Mellon and Birenda Jha at MIT have developed proof-of-concept password-cracking software that takes advantage of that weakness. It cracks long passwords, and beats existing cracking software, simply by following rules of English grammar.

"Using an analytical model based on parts-of-speech tagging, we show that the decrease in search space due to the presence of grammatical structures can be as high as 50 percent," the researchers write in their paper.

[How to Create and Remember Super-Secure Passwords]

Figures of speech

The concept is simple and a bit like doing a crossword puzzle.

The researchers' software assumes that there will be regular parts of speech in most long passwords. It separates possible component words into categories such as nouns, verbs and adjectives and uses grammar to predict which words might appear.

For example, there are tens of thousands of common nouns, adjectives and adverbs in English, but only three articles: "a," "an" and "the."

If a phrase-based password is using proper grammar, it's likely to use articles. That reduces the number of possible words and makes it easier for a password-cracking computer to decipher.

When trying to crack the encrypted version of "thebigboyrunsfast," a grammar-cracking computer would guess that the first word might be an article.

If the first letter turns out to be "t," chances are pretty good the next one is "h." From there, the software would try "e," "E" and "3," a common numerical substitute for "e." That's a lot easier than running through all 94 possible characters on a standard keyboard.

If "e," "E" or "3" is also right, then the cracking software would have gotten three characters into the passphrase in no time at all.

Since "the" is a complete word, the next step would be to guess the next word.

Instead of running through all the possible choices, the algorithm starts by limiting its choices to word lists of nouns and adjectives and their most common numerical-substitution variants.

Pretty soon, the computer would get to the adjective "big" and decrypt it. Knowing that adjectives usually precede nouns in English, it would then run through its list of common nouns and quickly decipher "boy."

This grammar-based process greatly cuts down on computing time, making it possible to decipher a good percentage of relatively long passphrases.

Three times as good

In the researchers' data set of 1,434 real passwords that were at least 16 characters long (drawn from a pool of nearly 40 million known passwords), their software was able to crack more than 20 percent in a few hours. Commonly used cracking software was able to crack only 6 percent.

Even better, 10 percent of the data set was cracked only by the researchers' software, and not by any of the three pieces of common cracking software.

"Long passwords [are] a promising user authentication mechanism," Rao and her colleagues conclude. "However, to achieve the level of security and usability envisioned with long passwords, we have to understand the effect of structures present in them. Further, we have to make policies and enforcement tools cognizant of the effect of structures."

Rao and her colleagues don't put forward any examples, but the upshot of their research is that it's best not to craft long passwords from phrases that both use proper grammar and make sense.

Instead, get creative. Try poor grammar and spelling, as in "de whippoorsnapper sashay sideway," or get completely silly, as in "flipper flopper fliddle fladdle."

It doesn't matter how correct it is, as long as you can easily remember it.

Feel free to fire! - Business Management Daily

Have you had it with an em??ployee who can?t seem to get along with others and who constantly tries to intimidate co-workers? If warnings don?t help, fire him.

Recent case: Brady worked as a registered nurse for a health care facility. He had to be transferred to different departments several times after getting into arguments with predominately female co-workers.

Several women described Brady?s behavior as intimidating, threatening and just plain frightening. He would lean over the employee he was arguing with, slam doors and drawers and generally seemed unable to contain his anger.

Brady was finally fired about nine months after he filed a complaint alleging discrimination based on sex, age and height. The complaint had already been dismissed at the time he was terminated.

Still, Brady sued, alleging retaliation for filing the complaint. The basis of his claim: He alleged female co-workers who got angry had received more favorable treatment.

The court disagreed. It said the employer had ample evidence that Brady?s angry outbursts were of a different quality than his co-workers? behavior. It threw out his case. (West v. Allina Health System, No. 11-287, DC MN, 2012)

Final note: Document all bad behavior. Your records should support your conclusion that an employee is disruptive. Those records should also show how you punished him and others whose behavior qualified as disruptive.

Details count. Bland descriptions like ?got angry? aren?t good enough. Note exactly what the em??ployee did that made his behavior threatening.

(AP) ? Beyonce drew a loud cheer from the audience Monday even before her impressive rendition of the national anthem.

The applause started when she took her place with Jay-Z at the Capitol to watch President Barack Obama take the oath for his second term in office. The two stopped to chat with the Rev. Al Sharpton.

James Taylor kicked off the musical performances, strumming his guitar and singing "America the Beautiful." Kelly Clarkson followed with a different arrangement of "My Country 'Tis of Thee." Then Beyonce was introduced and the crowd again roared its approval.

Beyonce had a definite fan in Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who applauded eagerly after she finished singing the national anthem. She offered R&B-esque vocal riffs as she sang on and the crowd seemed to love it, cheering loudly as she finished. Clarkson, too, hit high notes.

Beyonce may have been the star musical attraction, but she had plenty of company from Hollywood at the Capitol on Monday. Katy Perry and John Mayer sat side-by-side, with Perry in an orange-striped coat and wide hat, and Mayer in dark sunglasses. Singer-songwriter Ke$ha was there, too.

People flocked to the colorful pop star, snapping photos. And Perry did the same, taking shots of "Girls" actress and daughter of news anchor Brian Williams, Allison Williams.

Actress Eva Longoria was seated on the platform outside the Capitol after making an appearance at a Kennedy Center performance Sunday night. Perry sang at the children's concert the night before.

Former Boston Celtics great Bill Russell was in the crowd, too, along with actor Marlon Wayans.

Two dead siege militants were Canadians: Algerian source

ALGIERS (Reuters) - Two dead Islamist militants found inside the Algerian desert siege site were Canadians, an Algerian security source told Reuters on Monday.

Algerian special forces had discovered the bodies at the Tiguentourine gas plant near the town of In Amenas, the source said.

Troops stormed the plant on Saturday, ending a hostage crisis which began when Islamists took control of the site before dawn on Wednesday. Many hostages, including American, British, French, Japanese, Norwegian and Romanian citizens, are among those missing or confirmed dead.

An official Algerian source said previously that the group behind the attack had comprised Arabs, Africans, and also people from outside the African continent.

Armstrong turns emotional in 2nd part of interview

CHICAGO (AP) ? Lance Armstrong finally cracked.

Not while expressing deep remorse or regrets, though there was plenty of that in Friday night's second part of Armstrong's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

It wasn't over the $75 million in sponsorship deals that evaporated over the course of two days, or having to walk away from the Livestrong cancer charity he founded and called his "sixth child." It wasn't even about his lifetime ban from competition, though he said that was more than he deserved.

It was another bit of collateral damage that Armstrong said he wasn't prepared to deal with.

"I saw my son defending me and saying, 'That's not true. What you're saying about my dad is not true,'" Armstrong recalled.

"That's when I knew I had to tell him."

Armstrong was near tears at that point, referring to 13-year-old Luke, the oldest of his five children. He blinked, looked away from Winfrey, and with his lip trembling, struggled to compose himself.

It came just past the midpoint of the hourlong program on Winfrey's OWN network. In the first part, broadcast Thursday, the disgraced cycling champion admitted using performance-enhancing drugs when he won seven straight Tour de France titles.

Critics said he hadn't been contrite enough in the first half of the interview, which was taped Monday in Austin, but Armstrong seemed to lose his composure when Winfrey zeroed in on the emotional drama involving his personal life.

"What did you say?" Winfrey asked.

"I said, 'Listen, there's been a lot of questions about your dad. My career. Whether I doped or did not dope. I've always denied that and I've always been ruthless and defiant about that. You guys have seen that. That's probably why you trusted me on it.' Which makes it even sicker," Armstrong said.

"And uh, I told Luke, I said," and here Armstrong paused for a long time to collect himself, "I said, 'Don't defend me anymore. Don't.'

"He said OK. He just said, 'Look, I love you. You're my dad. This won't change that."

Winfrey also drew Armstrong out on his ex-wife, Kristin, whom he claimed knew just enough about both the doping and lying to ask him to stop. He credited her with making him promise that his comeback in 2009 would be drug-free.

"She said to me, 'You can do it under one condition: That you never cross that line again,'" Armstrong recalled.

"The line of drugs?" Winfrey asked.

"Yes. And I said, 'You've got a deal,'" he replied. "And I never would have betrayed that with her."

A U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report that exposed Armstrong as the leader of an elaborate doping scheme on his U.S. Postal Service cycling team included witness statements from at least three former teammates who said Kristin Armstrong participated in or at least knew about doping on the teams and knew team code names for EPO kept in her refrigerator. Postal rider Jonathan Vaughters testified that she handed riders cortisone pills wrapped in foil.

Armstrong said in the first part of the interview that he had stayed clean in the comeback, a claim that runs counter to the USADA report.

And that wasn't the only portion of the interview likely to rile anti-doping officials.

Winfrey asked Armstrong about a "60 Minutes Sports" interview in which USADA chief executive Travis Tygart said a representative of the cyclist had offered a donation that the agency turned down.

"Were you trying to pay off USADA?" she asked.

"No, that's not true," he replied, repeating, "That is not true."

Winfrey asks the question three more times, in different forms.

"That is not true," he insisted.

USADA spokeswoman Annie Skinner replied in a statement: "We stand by the facts both in the reasoned decision and in the '60 Minutes' interview."

Armstrong has talked with USADA officials, and a meeting with Tygart near the Denver airport reportedly ended in an argument over the possibility of modifying the lifetime ban. A person familiar with those conversations said Armstrong could provide information that might get his ban reduced to eight years. By then, he would be 49. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he was discussing a confidential matter.

After retiring from cycling in 2011, Armstrong returned to triathlons, where he began his professional career as a teenager, and he has told people he's desperate to get back.

Winfrey asked if that was why he agreed to the interview.

"If you're asking me, do I want to compete again ... the answer is hell, yes," Armstrong said. "I'm a competitor. It's what I've done my whole life. I love to train. I love to race. I love to toe the line ? and I don't expect it to happen."

Yet just three questions later, a flash of the old Armstrong emerged.

"Frankly," he said, "this may not be the most popular answer, but I think I deserve it. Maybe not right now ... (but) if I could go back to that time and say, 'OK, you're trading my story for a six-month suspension?' Because that's what people got."

"What other people got?" Winfrey asked.

"What everybody got," he replied.

Eleven former Armstrong teammates, including several who previously tested positive for PEDs, testified about the USPS team's doping scheme in exchange for more lenient punishments. Armstrong said in the first part of the interview that he knew his "fate was sealed" when his most trusted lieutenant, George Hincapie, who was alongside him for all seven Tour wins between 1999-2005, was forced to give Armstrong up to anti-doping authorities,

"So I got a death penalty and they got ... six months," Armstrong resumed. "I'm not saying that that's unfair, necessarily, but I'm saying it's different."

Armstrong said the most "humbling" moment in the aftermath of the USADA report was leaving Livestrong lest his association damage the foundation's ability to raise money and continue its advocacy programs on behalf of cancer victims.

Originally called the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the cyclist created it the year after he was diagnosed with a form of testicular cancer that had spread to his brain and lungs. Doctors gave him 50-50 odds of surviving.

"I wouldn't at all say forced out, told to leave," he said of Livestrong. "I was aware of the pressure. But it hurt like hell. ...

"That was the lowest," Armstrong said. "The lowest."

Armstrong's personal fortune had sustained a big hit days earlier. One by one, his sponsors called to end their associations with him: Nike; Trek Bicycles; Giro, which manufactures cycling helmets and other accessories; Anheuser-Busch.

"That was a $75 million day," Armstrong said.

"That just went out of your life," Winfrey said.

"Gone."

"Gone?" Winfrey repeated.

"Gone," he replied, "and probably never coming back."

So was there a moral to his story?

"I can look at what I did," he said. "Cheating to win bike races, lying about it, bullying people. Of course, you're not supposed to do those things. That's what we teach our children."

Armstrong paused to compose himself before a final mea culpa.

"I just think it was about the ride and losing myself, getting caught up in that, and doing all those things along the way that enabled that," he said. "The ultimate crime is, uh, is the betrayal of those people that supported me and believed in me.

"They got lied to."

Five shot dead in Albuquerque, teen charged

SANTA FE, New Mexico (Reuters) - A teenage boy with several weapons including an assault rifle shot and killed five people, three of them children, at a house in Albuquerque, New Mexico, authorities said on Sunday.

The boy, whose exact age had yet to be determined, was arrested and charged with the killings which took place late Saturday night, said Aaron Williamson, a Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department deputy.

"The victims all had multiple gunshot wounds, and there appeared to be multiple weapons, including an assault type weapon," Williamson said.

The children appeared to be "elementary- to middle-school age," Williamson said. The boy was charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death, he said.

He said it had not been determined whether the weapons were from inside the house or brought from somewhere else.

It also was not yet clear whether the five people killed were related or what the relationship was between the teen and the victims.

The nation remains on edge about gun violence after a man killed 20 schoolchildren and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school in December using an assault rifle, sparking a renewed debate about gun control.

President Barack Obama has proposed a new assault weapons ban and mandatory background checks for all gun buyers, and New York on Tuesday broadened its assault weapons ban and restricted the allowed capacity for ammunition magazines.

Several other states also are considering whether to tighten gun controls.

The use of assault weapons is legal in New Mexico, although state lawmakers are considering bills that would tighten gun control laws and require background checks for nearly anyone buying a firearm.

California meteorite reveals secrets thanks to crowdsourcing (+video)

Recently published research describes a collection of meteorite pieces that landed in California in April. The study came about through a group effort dubbed "crowdsourcing" by the lead scientist. ??

By Elizabeth Howell,?Space.com / December 20, 2012

Barely eight months after a fireball lit up California and Nevada skies, the first scientific paper is out examining the meteorites it left behind.

' + google_ads[0].line2 + '
' + google_ads[0].line3 + '

"It was done very quickly," said Peter Jenniskens, a meteor researcher who suddenly found himself managing a small army of volunteers when the Sutter's Mill meteor broke up April 22.

Dozens of scientists jumped to Jenniskens' aid as he?searched for meteorite fragments. But less publicized will be the volunteers who phoned in reports of meteorites, or sent in?pictures and video of the fireball?by e-mail.

Jenniskens' team?commandeered an airship?to search for fragments. Meanwhile, the team caught a lucky break ? Doppler radar information from nearby weather stations showed the track of the meteorite. Adding this data to the pictures and video sent in by volunteers, the scientists could reconstruct the impacting asteroid's early history. [Photos: Fireball Drops Meteorites On California]

According to Jenniskens, the paper, to be published Friday (Dec. 21) in the journal Science,?was made possible by the mass crowdsourcing effort that enabled a large amount of data to be collected in a short time.

"It's all very important, and it's fantastic how this came together," said Jenniskens, a meteor astronomer at the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). "For me, it was personally very exciting."

Peeling back the years

The Sutter's Mill meteorite turned out to be a rare type ? a?carbonaceous chondrite?that contains information about the early stages of the solar system. The meteorite pieces originated in a space rock that was perhaps as much as 3.3 yards (3 meters) across.

A space rock is called an asteroid or meteoroid until it hits the Earth's atmosphere. The resulting fireball is then called a meteor until it hits the ground, at which point it is dubbed a meteorite.

The asteroid that would later impact California orbited the sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, making about three trips around our star in the time it takes Jupiter to orbit once. Such a ratio, known as a resonance, is common in the solar system ? some of?Jupiter's moons are in resonance?with each other, for example.

The asteroid's resonance was a little "off" from a perfect 3 to 1 ratio. At some point, Jupiter's strong gravity muscled the asteroid out of its normal orbit and sent it on a trip to the inner solar system. This pushed the asteroid into a new orbit that brought it in as far as Mercury's orbit when it got closest to the sun.

Tesla Model X SUV hands-on (video)

Tesla Model X SUV handson video

We've seen the Model X in the flesh before, at its showy unveiling last February at which Tesla CEO Elon Musk turned up to show off the "Falcon Wing" rear doors and the rather... compact seating arrangement that makes room for three full rows of short-legged human beings. Here in Detroit at NAIAS the 2014 model year car is making another appearance, doors open and interior fully-functional. We couldn't resist hopping in there to check out the 17-inch multi-function touch panel. Largely the same as that in the Model S, the panel lets you manage climate control, navigation and, yes, do a little web surfing too. It's all demonstrated in the video after the break.

Teachers in California come out of the closet

They openly admit they stand for the abolition of capitalism.

The Occupy Oakland Education Committee ? comprised of public school teachers from the Oakland, California school district ? has renamed its publication ?ClassRoom Struggle? and its platform TEACH, which stands for ?Transform Education, Abolish Capitalism and Heal.?

Finally the radical teachers have acknowledged what we?ve been saying all along: they want to end capitalism and replace it with a socialist economy, quite possibly enforced by a totalitarian form of government.

Ex-Coheed and Cambria Bassist Battling Cancer + More News

Getty Images

Former Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd is battling a resurgence of testicular cancer.

Todd, 23, made headlines last year after he held up a drug store while trying to obtain painkillers for his addiction. He left the band after that drama and was sentenced to home confinement and a drug program.

Now, he faces the fight of his life, as his cancer has spread and his medical costs are mounting. His supporters have launched a fundraising campaign to help defray some of his increasing medical bills.

You can donate here.

For Today guitarist Mike Reynolds has left the band after last week's torrent of tweets condemning homosexuality as a sin. The band issued the following statement about why he left.

"Mike Reynolds is no longer a part of For Today. He has decided that now is the time for he and his wife to put their plans in motion to enroll in bible college, and to begin working toward full-time missions work in the Middle East. Mike will be replaced by long-time friend of the band, and former In The Midst of Lions guitar player, Sam Penner, who will be appearing with the band as they headline their upcoming Fight the Silence tour."

The band issued this video featuring Mattie Montgomery discussing the controversy.

Motorhead frontman/bassist Lemmy Kilmister has just revealed his Motorheadphones. They will emphasize the bass thud, bringing out mid-range sounds, as opposed to burying them in bass. The Leminator said that too much bass takes the soul out of rock and makes it sound like you're listening to music "through a towel." The listening devices are constructed of metal and come in three designs. They will set you back between $50 and $130, so if you're an audiophile, it'll be worth the spend. Additionally, two of the models even have a microphone remote control in them called "The Controlizer." The phones will be available this April. [VH1 Classic Radio]

Rammstein's Videos 1995-2012 has been delayed until February. It was originally due out on January 15, but a manufacturing error has forced a new release date, to ensure high quality and proper packaging; the new date which will be announced imminently. The DVD features the band's video discography, along with two new videos for the song "Mein Herz Brennt," and is available on standard DVD and Blu-ray. Videos 1995-2012 contains over seven hours of material featuring 25 music videos, 24 behind-the-scenes clips of the making-of-the-videos and a 56-page booklet. It's available on three DVDs or two Blu-rays. [Via Press Release]

Black Sabbath will release their new album '13' this June. The exact release date of the band's 13th album is TBA. It features the original lineup, save for drummer Bill Ward, who chose to sit this one out due to some legal wrangling. Rage Against the Machine's Brad Wilk filled in as the session drummer for the Rick Rubin-produced album. [Via Press Release]

Topps has added a metal specific insert to its 2013 Topps Archive packages, called "The Heavy Metal Autographs" series. There are just 25 copies of the cards, printed on metal! Autographs from Tommy Lee, Scott Ian, Lita Ford, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt and Kip Winger are included. The set is available on May 29.

Anthrax are not holding auditions to replace departing guitarist Rob Caggiano, who is moving on to focus on his career as a producer. Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais will step in and play with the band at some upcoming shows. [Anthrax Facebook]

Vinnie Paul of Pantera and HELLYEAH fame will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Pawn Stars. One of the brokers considers purchasing the drummer's RV. The airdate is TBD. [VH1 Classic Radio]

Visiting a College Campus As an Older Student ? Bnr.Co

If you?re in your 20s and 30s, it is nonetheless a excellent you to schedule a pay a visit to to a college campus you are thinking of attending. Several young adults in their 20s and 30s feel to themselves very typically that given that they are older the same rules of college do not apply to them anymore. They believe that time in their lives has passed and gone forever. You couldn?t be farther from the truth.

?A campus visit at no matter what age is a must. Whether you are 18, 28, 38, 40, 58, or whatever age, you still want to see regardless of whether a college and its character will fit you and who you are. You must appear around and see if this college has primarily younger students or older students. You need to get a feel if older students are welcome if it is primarily younger students. There is only a single way to do this and that is to pay a visit to the school.

Make positive you contact an admission officer when you visit the campus. They will treat you and fill the same function as they would for any high school student searching to attend their college. They can supply good guidance on whether or not the college is a match for you and your goals. You can go over your major and what courses will be needed for it. They can give you an thought of the tuition cost as nicely as how lengthy it will take you to complete the program. The admission officer can also tell you what the chances you would be admitted to the college are. They can also point you in the direction of activities and organizations that serve older students.

?Last, but not least, right after you speak to the admission officer, make positive you take a stroll around campus and speak to the students. Appear about for the older students and not the younger ones. They will be able to give you beneficial details about the college and how it might fit you and your character.

Traveling With Teddy Forsman - Business Insider

In 2011, Wall Street lost one of its greatest to brain cancer, billionaire private equity investor Teddy Forstmann.

And while Forstmann was a huge public figure ? he was a philanthropist who also owned IMG, the biggest sports and modeling talent agency in the world ? a lot of his life was quite private.

On the private side of things was the Gulfstream V (G V) jet he got after buying, turning around, and then selling the Gulfstream in the 1990s.

The February issue of Vanity Fair has a long profile of Forstmann's last days told by a man who spent many of them with him ? Rich Cohen, the ghostwriter working on Forstmann's biography. Forstmann loved to travel, so Cohen ended up spending a lot of time on the Gulfstream going from New York City to Paris, London and beyond.

Here's what it was like:

We met at a heliport on the west Side of Manhattan. Teddy's driver carried his bags across the concrete. I followed behind with my own, battered valise, climbing into the passenger cabin of the helicopter as Teddy gave the signal and up we went....

Soon the helicopter set us down on a runway at the Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey. Teddy's plane was waiting, its turbines already spinning, its crew standing in starched uniforms, its jet bridge ascending to technological heaven as the tycoon and his ghost made their way across the tarmac...

Teddy's plan was all command center: deep leather chairs, financial journals, and flat-screens. There was a bed, but it was hidden away, disguised...

We landed in Paris as the sun was going down. the city was gold and blue and strung with lights. When you are rich, you do not stand in line to show your passport. Instead, after the G V rolled to a stop, scotch glasses clinking in the tray beside the single malts, a customs official came aboard, greeted us in her beautiful language, gave our documents the once-over, sad, Oui Oui Monsieur Forstmann, and bid us adieu as we moved on to the car, then off through the moody twilit streets.

Pretty boss, right?

After Hurricane Sandy, Animal Shelters And Rescues Struggle To Recover

From Vetstreet's Amy Sinatra Ayres:

Joanne Monez lay on a bed with her rescue?s resident cats, worrying as floodwaters rose around her. It was the only island of safety she could find as Superstorm Sandy ravaged her one-story Queens, N.Y., home ? which also served as a cat shelter.

?My fear was that if [the water] got any higher, I might have to go to my attic for safety, but felt the resident adult cats would try to follow me,? which would put them in danger, says Monez, who?s the director of All About Spay Neuter. With the mattress soaked, the water finally started to subside, and volunteers arrived at her door to help.

Sadly, Monez lost two of the 40 cats she was caring for, and her home-and-shelter was no longer livable. With the help of emergency grants and donations from supporters, she quickly moved to a new location and has a grand reopening planned for Jan. 20, but the group still needs help to recover its losses.

A Familiar Tale
Across the hardest-hit parts of New York and New Jersey, there are similar stories of hardships at shelters ? like the Humane Society of Atlantic County in New Jersey, which had several inches of flooding in its kennels and veterinary hospital, and Rescue Ink in Long Beach, N.Y., which was able to save its animals but is rebuilding after losing everything else in the storm?s destruction.

Just over two months since the storm devastated the area, displacing pets and wreaking havoc on shelters in its path, a few things stand out: volunteers who braved days on end with no electricity to care for animals, thousands of dollars in losses and tales of shelters helping shelters. As they get back on their feet, many are still in need of help, from funding to supplies and volunteer time.

?It really strained resources and tested the abilities of the shelter community and rescue organizations,? says Brian Shapiro, New York state director for the Humane Society of the United States. ?Lessons are going to be learned about what worked, what didn?t work ? Even though this was a disaster, at the same time, I think it?s going to make all parties stronger.? (Watch a video about the work of HSUS in New York and New Jersey on YouTube.)

Though there are surely many other animal groups that need help, Vetstreet rounded up information from several shelters and rescues in the region. Below, learn how they weathered the storm and how you can lend a hand.

List and captions courtesy of Vetstreet

  • All About Spay Neuter, Howard Beach, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm:</strong> The home where the shelter was located was flooded with 4 feet of salt water, which destroyed everything in its path. The group was able to move into a new location the same night that a nor?easter struck. A Manhattan shelter, <a href="http://www.animalhavenshelter.org/site/PageServer">Animal Haven</a>, jumped in to help, taking five of the adult cats and finding homes for four of them. <strong>Current Status: </strong>The group received grants from <a href="http://www.petfinder.com/">Petfinder</a> and the <a href="http://www.aspca.org/">ASPCA</a> to help with rent, utilities and supplies to get started, and volunteers worked every weekend to paint, put up cabinets, assemble cat trees and get their new home ready. They?re planning a grand opening this month. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>All About <a href="http://www.vetstreet.com/care/spay-surgery-for-dogs-and-cats">Spay</a> <a href="http://www.vetstreet.com/care/neutering-for-dogs-and-cats">Neuter</a> is always looking for food and litter and volunteers to help with their kittens and with a fundraiser it?s holding on April 13. <a href="http://www.allaboutspayneuter.com/index.html">You can find more information here</a>.

  • Bobbi & The Strays, Freeport, Long Island, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm:</strong> Located in a flood plain, the shelter went without heat, power and running water for more than a week just after the storm, and the building sustained $200,000 in damage, according to information from <a href="http://www.merrickpetcare.com/">Merrick Pet Care</a>. <strong>Current Status: </strong>The shelter is completely out of room. <strong>Lesson Learned:</strong> "Everyone needs to get their pet microchipped so they can be easily identified,? says Dorothy Loguidice, volunteer coordinator. ?Those families that chipped their pet before the storm had a much easier time tracking down and reuniting with them." <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>The shelter desperately needs skilled tradesmen to help rebuild (drywall damage, heating systems, etc.). They also need volunteers who can commit to training and then helping out around the shelter on a regular basis (taking dogs for walks, cleaning kennels, clerical work, etc.). <a href="http://www.bobbiandthestrays.org/">You can find more information here</a>.

  • Rescue Ink, Long Beach, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm: </strong>This shelter, which cares for animals who?ve been abused and neglected, was under 5 feet of water in the storm. The group has ?lost everything,? including medical supplies, computers and vehicles used for animal transport. (The video showing the destruction is here.) <strong>Current Status:</strong> The animals are living in a temporary shelter. The Long Beach shelter ?is cleaned out now and waiting for inspection from the city to find out what else needs to be done to open the facility back up,? says Joe Panz, one of the group?s founding members. <strong>How You Can Help:</strong> Rescue Ink needs donations to rebuild. <a href="http://www.rescueink.org/">You can find more information here</a>.

  • Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Brooklyn, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm:</strong> "[Hurricane Sandy] turned the shelter upside down. We've had at least 100 new dogs since Sandy, and we're full to the gills with more dogs in need than we have the capacity to help," says Theresa LaBianca, director of administration, according to information from <a href="http://www.merrickpetcare.com/">Merrick Pet Care</a>. <strong>Current Status: </strong>The shelter is very short on supplies and had extensive damage to its building. Staffing has been a huge issue because its employees have to spend time repairing their own homes. With so many dogs in the shelter, they've had to have staff members sleep overnight in the facility. Adoption rates have lowered because people don't have the time or resources to adopt. This has created a backlog of dogs who would normally be adopted in addition to those displaced by the storm. <strong>How You Can Help:</strong> Some people want to specifically adopt "Hurricane Sandy dogs." "This is appreciated, but people need to remember that there are many, many more dogs that weren't displaced by Sandy that still need homes," LaBianca says. The shelter also needs volunteers. <a href="http://www.nyanimalrescue.org/">You can find more information here</a>.

  • Staten Island Hope Animal Rescue, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm: </strong>The cat rescue, which has about 120 cats in foster homes and coordinates adoptions out of a local Petco store, worked to help many people rescue their scared cats, who in many cases were trapped in damaged homes or ran outside during the storm. ?I would say the most valuable lesson I learned was the compassion and dedication people have regarding assisting animals during this crisis,? says president Michelle Christofilakes. Maxwell, the kitten pictured to the right, was found separated from his mom the day after the storm and is headed to a permanent home this month. <strong>Current Status: </strong>The group needs donations to cover veterinary care. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>They could use foster help or donations toward veterinarian care for animals they rescued during the storm. You can find more information here.

  • Bideawee, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm:</strong> Bideawee has several locations. Its Manhattan facility, which has been located on the edge of the East River for more than 100 years, was swamped with water during the storm surge. It had heavy water damage, and the elevator that?s used to move animals from the adoption center to the animal hospital was destroyed. This forced the facility to close for 20 days. The 70 animal residents were moved to Bideawee?s facility in Wantagh, N.Y., which is located in Nassau County and was also impacted by the storm. That facility was without power for 23 days. It operated with a generator for the first 11 days, but when that failed, its dedicated staff turned to flashlights and extra blankets for the animals. Bideawee?s Westhampton facility also lost power for a few days and had wind damage to its roof. <strong>Current Status:</strong> It will take hundreds of thousands of dollars to repair the group?s facilities and recover the costs of lost business while its animal hospital was closed. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>The group can use volunteers and donations. <a href="http://bideawee.org/">You can find more information here.</a>

  • Animal Haven, Manhattan

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm:</strong> Though the shelter escaped the flooding it expected, it operated in the dark for nearly six days until power was restored. The shelter took in animals from evacuated areas before the storm hit. <strong>Current Status: </strong>?The aftermath has just been trying to find homes for the animals that we took in,? says Tiffany Lacey, executive director. Its dog population has returned to normal levels, but it still has several more cats than it normally does. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>The group would like to invest in a generator in the event of any future power outages, and it can always use donations. You can find more information here.

  • North Shore Animal League America, N.Y.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm: </strong>With headquarters in Port Washington, N.Y., the organization deployed two mobile units to a temporary pet shelter in Garden City, N.Y., that had been set up by Nassau County?s Office of Emergency Management with assistance from Animal League America, <a href="http://www.petsafecoalition.org/">Pet Safe Coalition</a> and <a href="http://www.nassaucountyspca.org/">Nassau County SPCA</a>. The units were available to house pets whose owners were evacuating. At their headquarters, the group took in adoptable animals from <a href="http://www.bobbiandthestrays.org/">Bobbi & the Strays,</a> which had severe flooding. <strong>Current Status:</strong> ?After the storm hit, the need for a shelter for displaced pets was huge,? says communications manager Lindsey Calabrese. Nassau County moved the temporary shelter to the Mitchell Field Gymnasium, where Animal League America rescue and medical staff continues to care for displaced pets. The league has cared for more than 510 displaced pets at the emergency shelter, where there are still more than 150 displaced animals. Many owners are still trying to find a place to stay where they can keep their animals with them. In the meantime, the league is working with Nassau County on a foster referral program so that the pets will have homes until their owners can be reunited with them.

  • The Humane Society of Atlantic County, N.J.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm:</strong> Located right on the water in Atlantic City, the shelter was hit hard. Their kennels had 20 inches of water and the veterinary hospital had up to 12 inches, but the animals were safe, thanks to the director, who stayed at the facility all week with them, moving them to higher cages. They lost about $50,000 worth of medical supplies and another $50,000 in equipment and furniture. They worked with agencies throughout New Jersey to distribute five tractor-trailer loads of dog and cat food and litter to storm victims. <strong>Current Status: </strong>The shelter has since cleaned, rebuilt or replaced anything damaged by the storm. ?Our animals remained safe, and the only real loss was financial,? says executive director Steven Dash. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>The shelter is in need of donations to help replenish funds used to recover from Sandy. <a href="http://www.hsacpet.org/">You can find more information here</a>.

  • Town of Hempstead, N.Y., Animal Shelter And Adoption Center

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm: </strong>Located on the south shore of Long Island, ?our jurisdiction covers some of the hardest-hit areas from the hurricane,? says director Cindy Iacopella. The organization assisted families in distress during the storm, including rescuing animals after fires that came as a result and during the nor?easter that struck days later, as well as delivering animal supplies to people who couldn?t drive out to get them. <strong>Current Status: </strong>Iacopella points out that some families are just learning that their homes can?t be repaired, and there?s a shortage of pet-friendly housing. ?People are forced, after losing everything, with the heartbreaking decision of having to surrender their pet,? she says. As a result, her shelter has had an influx of animals in need of homes. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>The best way to help this shelter is by adopting a pet ? especially one of the animals who are harder to place, Iacopella says. <a href="http://www.townofhempstead.org/animal-shelter/home-for-the-holidays">You can find more information here</a> or send an email to <a href="animalinfo@hotmail.org">animalinfo@hotmail.org</a>. Anyone interested in fostering or volunteering is asked to email <a href="emergencypetshelter@gmail.com">emergencypetshelter@gmail.com</a>.

  • Liberty Humane, N.J.

<strong>How They Weathered the Storm: </strong>Located in Jersey City, Liberty Humane prepared for flooding but sustained wind damage, and its storage trailer was destroyed. Staff and volunteers cared for their animals with no power for eight days. <strong>Current Status:</strong> Though the shelter is back up and running, they have no storage space. ?We actually have a really amazing amount of food right now that?s sitting wrapped in plastic in our backyard,? says Allison Junkers, development events coordinator. <strong>How You Can Help: </strong>The group is hoping to raise money to build storage. <a href="http://libertyhumane.org/home.php">You can find more information here</a>.
